Ok guys, I finally have the guts to cook this. I have been debating on whether or not to cook this. My 25 years of cooking and never know about this until I join food group. Credit IG nuocmamafoods, FB Vietnamese Soul Food
1. Prepare the soup: in a pot, add everything but the shrimps and bring to a boil. Turn low to simmer for 15-20 minutes.
2. Prepare the shrimps: mince them with green onions, ground pepper, garlic salt and a little bit of corn starch. If you peel the shrimps make sure you keep the shells and use them for the broth like on the photo. The shrimp shells will help make your broth sweeter :)
3. Scoop the shrimp mix into a frying pan with 1 tablespoon of cooking oil and lightly brown them. Don’t need to be cooked all the way.
4. Add 1/2 cup of water to the shrimp pan then pour them in the broth pot. Bring broth to a boil add onions and shut off.
5. Enjoy !
