The latest edition of the Lao Food Festival will be held between 24-28 January 2023 at Chao Anouvong park in Vientiane’s Chanthabouly district.
The festival will see a total of 180 exhibition booths, including food booths, craft booths, stalls showcasing agricultural items, and booths that feature products from other ASEAN countries.
At the event, visitors can try out a variety of local food from different provinces across the northern and southern parts of Laos.
The venue will also include various cultural performances like singing and dancing by prominent artists from the country.
According to the organizer of the food festival, Business Women’s Association (established by the Lao Women’s Union), the festival was started to provide a platform for women entrepreneurs in Laos to share their expertise in creating local products to meet the demands of today’s market.
With the theme “Lao Food Goes International”, this year’s event hopes to promote Lao traditional cuisine to both residents and foreign visitors around the country.
The Lao Food Festival takes place annually and is the only event that offers regional food from across the country. The 2022 edition of the festival was scaled down and featured only around 120 stalls to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
